EAM Influence

Enterprise Asset Management is one of the areas where SAP customers can move the product roadmap directly, through SAP Customer Influence. Voting is open to any customer with an S-user login, and requests with visible customer demand behind them are the ones that get attention. This page collects the EAM influence requests our community is backing so they are in one place rather than scattered across email.

The community call — Operation Level Account Assignment

Support for OAA (Operation Level Account Assignment) in S/4 for utilities, along with a number of other complex work maintenance and WAM functions, is an opportunity to engage SAP alongside other customers to improve these key functions. There is a customer influence request created to support several internal SAP efforts to get attention on this area.

Additional EAM requests open for votes

AlphaOak has submitted the following requests across the EAM Fiori applications and APIs, intended to round out S/4 functionality for asset-intensive utilities. Martin Stenzig raised these with the community and Paul Murrietta manages them on AlphaOak’s side. They are shared here so members can review and upvote the ones that matter to their own operations — upvotes from multiple customers are what move a request forward.

Create Maintenance Request (F1511A)

  • Expose the Notification type Field out of the Box — Influence 378972
  • Give Variable Control to Hide, Require, or make optional a field, including the Priority Assessment and Document Selections — Influence 378973
  • Add in an autopopulate option for Long Text Templates — Influence 378975
  • Exposing the Object, Damage, Cause, and Activity catalog fields within the app for Minor Work and Confirmation of Unplanned Work processing contexts would significantly reduce clicks for technicians. Optionally surfacing these fields in other processing contexts is desirable as a lower-priority enhancement — Influence 378976
  • For the calculation of the Final Due Date, give an option in the configuration to calculate by the Factory Calandar calculation or strait "Days" calculation — Influence 378977
  • Provide the ability to auto-populate the task list based on one of the following criteria: Failure Mode, Object/Damage/Action catalog combination, or MAT code. This could potentially be implemented by classifying task lists, similar to the existing EAM checklist classification approach — Influence 378978

Screen Maintenance Requests (F4072, F4073)

  • F4072 — Give Variable Control to Hide, Require, or make optional a field, including the Priority Assessment and Document Selections — Influence 378979

Change Maintenance Notification (WDA0313)

  • Provide the ability to leverage "Teams" for Person Responsible definitions mapped to teams, currently mapped to Work Centers, this is the same for any other Fiori apps that would leverage Person Responsible, please note having control to reference a team or completly open would be beneficial — Influence 378981

Manage Maintenance Notification and Orders (F4604, F4605, F4606, F4607, F4608)

  • F4604 — Provide the ability to create a follow-on order directly from the app against an existing Work Order. A dropdown on the create order action to select the order action would be highly beneficial. IW31 can do this today — Influence 378982
  • F4605 — Provide Phase Control Key reporting with the ability to query Work Orders by specific Phase Control Key values, including blank, subsets, and previously active but now inactive keys. Both exclusive and inclusive search options should be supported — Influence 378983
  • F4606 — Provide Long Text reporting with IA17-style extraction capability, surfacing long text content at the list level even with character limits, partial display is preferable to none. Extend this capability to the Manage Maintenance Notifications and Orders Fiori app, enabling long text visibility inline within the list view without requiring navigation into individual records — Influence 378984

  • Provide the ability to maintain User parameters, Work Centers, HR assignment, and Teams to better streamline user management in Fiori apps using PBM and SSAM — Influence 379004

Maintenance Backlog Overview (F5105, F5106)

  • F5105 — Provide the ability to expose Work Center Capacity against each planning bucket for better planning visability — Influence 379005
  • F5105 — Provide the ability to extract all Manage Maintenance Backlog data into Excel, including all subtabs — Influence 379006
  • F5106 — Provide the ability to create placeholder capacity demand without generating a Work Order. This would serve as a planning tool to reserve capacity against a Work Center for reporting and scheduling purposes, carrying relevant attributes such as Order Type category and MAT code without creating actual work. Ideally this would function similarly to a planned order capacity reservation in Production Planning with full create, edit, and delete capability — Influence 379007

  • Provide the ability for a display role for users to see schedules regardless of Planner or co-planner definitions — Influence 379008

Perform Maintenance Jobs (F5104A)

  • SSAM has the ability to execute a "Supervisor Review" this status is exposed in mobile, but is no where to be seen in any of the Fiori apps. The control of Phases is not intellegent enough to respect the supervisor review process. The ask is to incorporate the supervisor review within Fiori from SSAM, additionally provide the control to execute the supervisor review in Fiori. Adding this in as a subphase would be best.the output for the full review of all operations could set the Main Work Complete Status as well — Influence 379009
  • Provide an option to allow the technician to stage all of their time, then at the end of the week, submit the time entries into CATS from the app. Right now only confirmation postings is allowed through the app — Influence 379010
  • When leveraging Cats, provide the ability to provide a reason for variance and final time posting, this would stop any additional time postings, then also handle any open reservations on the operation — Influence 379011
  • When providing comments applicable to a Coding Code, have the ability to also maintain Long text, instead of just short text — Influence 379012

Manage Inspection Checklists (F6607)

  • When an Inspection has been reviewed, there may be a need to execute a reinspection for just the results that have failed a result, the request is to generate a new inspection lot, with only the inspections results required from a Supervisor/Manager, instead of creating an inspection lot with all results. Copy or Replace brings in every all at once — Influence 379013
  • When a user selects a usage decision Equipment and Functional Location Class Characteristics Manage Technical Objects Provide the ability for unlimited class characteristic reporting, with data selection of class characteristics (Multiple) — Influence 379014

APIs and integration

  • Provide the ability to maintain 40 character functional locations when leveraging Alternative Labeling from the API — Influence 379016

  • Provide the ability to leverage the Technical Object's geometry to transpose into the notification & orders when creating a notification via configuration, this then can be modified if required to better position to the potential concern — Influence 379018
  • Provide better control on AMQP configuration to allow configuration to provide when an EAM Object will be sent to Event Mesh in the BTP. For example Work Orders has a set defined Phase definition on when they are sent. Can this be configurable to send on every save or change? — Influence 379019
